The idea of such a star is actually not new. What is new about it, is perhaps the way we draw the star on the trunk. The goal is to get the maximum out of the tree trunk. Consequently, the star will not be equal and the jags are of different lengths.

However, that can also make the star more natural and more interesting.

A star, which was rather shaped by the trunk of the tree than by the designer.
