Self-made crane for the garage

The topography over our underground garage is the reason why the ceiling of the garage is over 5 meters high.

This construction based circumstances led me to the idea to make use of the lost space over my car.

One idea was the way to store my trailer. See therefore separate story on my webpage.

The second idea was to install a shelf board above the car to gain extra storage room. However, the challenge was how to bring goods on and off the shelf board. The solution was an own made garage crane, mounted in the middle of the shelf board. This allows the crane to serve both sides of the shelf with just one crane.

I do also admit that the fun to construct such a crane was probably greater than the need for it.  

However, need is one thing and fun is everything.
